What we collect

• Account info: your name, email address, and password (stored as a one-way hash — we never see or store your actual password).
• Profile details you choose to add: a short bio/tagline, a profile photo, a home address, and payment handles (CashApp/Venmo/PayPal/Zelle) if you choose to add them so neighbors can pay a suggested fee.
• Your exact home address is never shown to anyone else. We convert it into coordinates to place your general area on a map, and before that ever reaches another neighbor's screen or device, it's offset by a random amount (roughly 150-400 meters, in a random direction) — genuinely, not just visually — so what's shown is always an approximate area, never your literal location.
• Content you post: harvest listing photos, titles, descriptions, and pickup preferences.
• Messages you send to other neighbors through the app's trade chat.
• A push notification token if you enable alerts, so we can notify your device about new listings or messages — this token is specific to your device and is never shared with other users.
• Basic usage data standard to any web app (e.g. server logs), used only for keeping the app running and secure.

What other neighbors can see

Your name, profile photo, bio/tagline, trusted-neighbor status, your approximate (never exact) location, your community stats, and anything you post. Payment handles are shown only to a neighbor actually viewing a specific listing you've priced with a suggested fee — not published anywhere else. Messages you send are only visible to you and the neighbor you're messaging. Your exact home address, your real email address, and any device push-notification token are never shown to anyone.

Syncing between the app and the web version

TableShare works both as a website and as an installed phone app. The phone app keeps its own private copy of your data on your device and periodically syncs with our server so you can see the same marketplace, conversations, and messages either way. That sync only ever shares your own account's data (and public marketplace content) the same way the website already does — not anything beyond what's described in this policy.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your data to anyone.
• We don't show your exact address to anyone, including other users.
• We don't process real payments today — any "fee" shown on a listing is just a suggested amount for neighbors to settle between themselves.

Third-party services we use

• Resend — delivers account emails (like password resets).
• The U.S. Census Bureau's geocoding service — converts an address you type into map coordinates. A free, no-account government service; used for US addresses only.
• BigDataCloud — used only when you tap "use my current location" in the app, to turn a GPS fix into a city-level label (never a street address).
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — delivers push notifications to the installed Android app.
• Web Push (VAPID) — delivers push notifications to your browser, via whatever browser/OS push service you're using (e.g. your browser vendor's own push infrastructure). No third party beyond that sees the notification content.
• Our hosting provider — stores the app's database and uploaded photos.

Your choices

You can edit or remove your profile info, delete any listing, and delete your account entirely at any time from Profile & Settings. Deleting your account removes your profile, your listings, your payment handles, and your login credentials from our systems. Content you shared with other neighbors before deleting — like messages they've already received, or a listing photo they'd already seen — may remain visible in their own view of past conversations, the same way a text message doesn't unsend itself from the other person's phone. You can also see and disconnect any device connected to your account, and sign out of every other session at once, from Profile & Settings.

Eligibility

TableShare requires you to be 18 or older to create an account — see the Terms of Service. We ask at signup but don't independently verify age.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above.
